Thomas’s “studio” setup consists of a Dell Professional 3530 computer running Linux Mint 22.1 professional.
The computer is a DELL model 3530 Professional desktop with Linux Mint which is the latest version of Linux professional operating systems and is much faster than Windows, never has a virus so needs no anti-virus software and best of all, it’s free including all updates. Windows isn’t free. The computer monitor is a ViewSonic 22 inch.
The microphone is a professional boom mic adjustable for position and has a great sound.
I have 2 cameras. One is a Samsung model on a tripod so that its location and angle can always be adjusted to suit any position and with better picture quality. The second is a 4K computer accessory which is identical to a famous expensive make and model. As this one (made by the same company) has no name, it gives exactly the same performance but costs half the price.
There are also adjustable lights and other electronic equipment. A separate keyboard is connected to the computer and is much better than the one built into a laptop.
A second computer, a Dell 17 inch laptop, is also in use for referring to paperwork and lessons without disturbing students on the main computer.
