Kachreti English Language School began in 2019 prior to covid. Who knew Covid19 would have such a big impact on everyone’s lives?
We started life as a small school dedicated only to teaching English in villages where students had difficulty travelling to the city to attend English classes. Covid eventually had its effect on us as police did their rounds of many businesses and advised us that we should close our doors. Like many businesses, we have reconfigured our school to work online.
We found that students who came to us had in several cases, been learning English for up to five years, yet were unable to construct a sentence.
They told us that whilst learning, they had little opportunity to actually put the language into practice. They hadn’t spoken….. KELS is all about teaching the language TO BE USED. Our students SPEAK from day one. Even those who have never had any previous lessons and know nothing of the language. What use is a language if you can understand even a little but cannot reply or ask questions?
Even those of our students who had five years of lessons previously were able to hold simple conversations with a few weeks of our lessons behind them. Indeed, we have students who have gone on to be English teachers themselves. Some are a little less ambitious, yet have passed their English entrance exams to enter university.
